Miller Lite Is Giving Away 50,000 Free Beers for International Beer Day 2025
Cheers to free beer. In celebration of International Beer Day and its 50th anniversary, Miller Lite is giving away 50,000 free beers on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 450 bars across the United States. The brand is marking five decades of “Miller Time” with not only free brews but also a fun, nationwide event that pays homage to its longtime fans.

Free Beers at 450 Bars Nationwide
Starting Friday, fans 21 and older can grab one free Miller Lite at select bars. Each person is eligible for one can only, and it’s available while supplies last. To locate a participating bar near you, visit millerlite.com/find-celebration and search by state.
This move highlights Miller Lite’s gratitude to its customers, offering a moment of celebration at hundreds of venues across the country.
“Beer Drop” at the Milwaukee Brewery
Miller Lite’s home base in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, will host the centerpiece of the celebration. In true New Year’s Eve style, the brewery will stage a “Beer Drop” at 4:50 p.m. local time.
A giant installation, designed like a six-pack of Miller Lite, will release cans one by one. Each drop represents a year, marking the brand’s 50-year journey.
Miller Lite will also livestream the event. Cans will drop at exactly 4:50 p.m. across multiple time zones, creating a synchronized nationwide celebration.
“No matter where you are when the clock strikes 4:50 p.m., it’s Miller Time,” the brand said in its press release.
Limited-Edition Cans and Celebrity Collabs
The International Beer Day campaign is just one part of Miller Lite’s year-long celebration. Earlier this summer, the brand released limited-edition gold cans and partnered with Marcello Hernandez of Saturday Night Live to boost the festivities.
Not Just Miller Lite: Benihana Joins the Party
Miller Lite is not the only brand celebrating International Beer Day. Benihana is offering Coronitas (mini Corona beers) for only $1.99 from August 1 to 10 at select locations. The deal is available while supplies last.
With over 80 restaurants across the U.S., Caribbean, and Central and South America, Benihana adds a culinary twist to the holiday.
What Is International Beer Day?
International Beer Day began in 2007, founded by a group of friends who wanted to celebrate beer and the people behind it—brewers, bartenders, and drinkers alike. It is now observed annually on the first Friday of August and has grown into a worldwide event.
It is separate from National Beer Day, which takes place every April to commemorate the first legal beer sales after the Prohibition era in the U.S.
