Ride Vintage NYC Train This June
Ride vintage NYC trains whether you’re a history buff, a transit enthusiast, or just someone looking for a unique weekend activity. Mark your calendars: this June, the New York Transit Museum is reviving its beloved Parade of Trains in Brooklyn.
All Aboard the Parade of Trains

On Saturday, June 7th, and Sunday, June 8th, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, vintage subway cars will roll along the Brighton Line, with shuttle rides running continuously between the Brighton Beach and Kings Highway stations.
Each roundtrip lasts approximately 20 minutes, and all rides are included with a standard MetroCard swipe or OMNY tap—no special tickets required.
Meet the Vintage Fleet

This year’s lineup features some of the most iconic cars in the museum’s collection:
- 1904 BU Gate Cars: The oldest in the fleet, offering a glimpse into the early days of the subway.
- BMT Standards: The first subway cars to serve Brooklyn, showcasing mid-century modern design.
- R1/9s: Best known today for starring as the beloved Holiday Nostalgia Train.
Riders can expect to see vintage features such as rattan seats, hand-operated doors, and leather straps, along with period-specific advertisements that transport you back in time.
A Journey Through Time

Whether you’re a longtime New Yorker or a visitor looking to experience the city’s rich history, the Parade of Trains offers a unique and memorable experience.
It’s a chance to witness firsthand how the subway system has evolved over the past century, all while enjoying a leisurely ride through one of Brooklyn’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
