Food Network Chef Anne Burrell Dies at 55

Anne Burrell, known for her high energy and deep love of cooking, died on June 17, 2025, at age 55. Emergency crews arrived at her Brooklyn home around 8 a.m. after a 911 call reported she was unresponsive. They found her unconscious and pronounced her dead at the scene. Although the cause of death has not yet been confirmed, officials are awaiting autopsy results after reports of cardiac arrest.

Burrell built her television career on shows like Iron Chef America and Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. She gained widespread recognition when she began co-hosting Worst Cooks in America in 2010, a role she held through 2024. Earlier this year, she joined the new competition series House of Knives.

She was born in Cazenovia, New York, on September 21, 1969. After completing her training at the Culinary Institute of America in 1996, she entered the world of televised cooking and quickly became a fan favorite. Along the way, she authored two cookbooks, including Cook Like a Rock Star, which reached The New York Times bestseller list in 2011.

Chef Carla Hall also reflected on her legacy, describing her as “fierce, funny, and an incredibly talented cook and teacher.”
