A fire destroyed the main stage at Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium, just two days before the festival was set to begin. The fire broke out on July 16 during a setup routine. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Officials believe the fire started during a pyrotechnics test. As flames spread quickly, about 1,000 crew members evacuated the area safely. Authorities are now investigating the incident as accidental arson.

Tomorrowland, known as one of the world’s biggest dance music festivals, still plans to open DreamVille camping on July 17. Organizers confirmed that the Global Journey activities in Brussels and Antwerp will also continue as scheduled. In response to the fire, they are preparing backup stages for performances.

The blaze destroyed most of the main stage. Witnesses reported thick black smoke and loud blasts. Emergency responders acted fast to contain the fire and protect nearby areas.

A spokesperson said, “We are doing everything to keep the festival going and make it safe for everyone.”

  • Fire occurred on July 16, 2025, during stage prep
  • No injuries reported among roughly 1,000 workers
  • Fire linked to fireworks test, still under review
  • DreamVille and Global Journey events remain on track
  • Organizers are developing alternative stage plans

The main stage was built around this year’s “Orbyz” theme. While the damage is significant, the festival remains on course to proceed during both planned weekends.
