Disney to Re-Release Hamilton Film with New Footage and Special Screening
Get ready for a special treat! Disney is set to re-release the filmed version of the hit musical Hamilton in theaters this fall, with a new prologue and exclusive interviews with the original cast. The theatrical release will mark a decade since the groundbreaking show first took Broadway by storm.

What’s New in This Release?
On August 5, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda revealed on The Tonight Show that the new release will feature a special prologue titled “Reuniting the Revolution.” This segment will offer fresh insights from the cast and creators, reflecting on the impact Hamilton has had on their careers and lives.

Special Screening in Central Park
Ahead of the official release, there will be a special screening on September 3 at the Delacorte Theater. It is in Central Park, where Hamilton made its world premiere in 2015. A limited number of tickets will be available for donation starting August 11, with a free ticket lottery and a standby line for the screening. All proceeds will benefit the Public Theater.
A Film for the Big Screen
Filmed in June 2016, just before the original cast left Broadway, this Hamilton version features Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton, alongside Tony winners Leslie Odom Jr., Phillipa Soo, Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and more.
The Hamilton film is currently available for streaming on Disney+, but this cinematic re-release offers a chance to experience it on the big screen.
