Iran fired a series of missiles at US military bases in Qatar and Iraq on June 23. The strikes followed US air attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities just days earlier.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced the operation under the name “Annunciation of Victory.” They launched missiles at Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar and a US base in Iraq. According to Iran, it deliberately targeted areas far from civilians and matched the number of missiles to bombs dropped in the US strike.

Qatar intercepted the missiles using air defenses and confirmed there were no injuries. Authorities also stated that Iran gave advance warning, which allowed for a quick response.

  • Iran launched missiles at two US military locations
  • The operation followed US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites
  • Qatar used its air defenses to intercept the attack
  • No casualties or damage were reported

A US defense official said, “Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar was attacked by short-range and medium-range ballistic missiles originating from Iran. At this time, there are no reports of US casualties. We are monitoring this situation closely and will provide more information as it becomes available.”

Iranian military leaders described the action as a limited response meant to send a clear message. They emphasized that the missiles only targeted military zones and aimed to avoid escalating civilian harm.
