Breast Milk Ice Cream Now Available Nationwide—Would You Try It?
Frida, a parenting-focused brand, and New York-based ice cream company OddFellows have launched a controversial yet viral dessert: Breast Milk Ice Cream. While the name may raise eyebrows, the product is not made from actual breast milk. Instead, it mimics its flavor profile and includes ingredients that reflect its nutritional essence—making it one of the most talked-about limited-edition flavors this year.

What Is Breast Milk Ice Cream?
Despite its name, no real human breast milk is used in the product. Frida and OddFellows created the flavor to reflect the “oddly familiar” taste associated with early childhood nourishment. The ice cream is described as sweet, slightly salty, and creamy, with hints of honey and sprinkles of colostrum—a nutrient-rich ingredient typically found in the early stages of lactation.
The product also features a distinct yellow tint, meant to resemble real colostrum. Ingredients include dairy cream, sugar, honey syrup, salted caramel flavoring, and liposomal bovine colostrum. Frida notes the flavor is designed to bring a nostalgic yet modern experience to adventurous dessert lovers.
Why Breast Milk?
Breast milk has been a recurring subject in pop culture. Celebrities like Ashley Graham, Kourtney Kardashian, and Coco Austin have publicly talked about trying their own. Frida’s goal was to destigmatize breast milk and reframe it in a way that celebrates its role in early life.
According to Frida, the idea also aims to spark conversation around motherhood, nutrition, and curiosity, making it more than just a novelty treat.
Where Can You Buy It?
The Breast Milk Ice Cream is now available for nationwide shipping via Frida’s official website, but only until August 10. Each order includes two pints at $12.99 each, shipped in a cold pack to ensure freshness.
If you’re in New York City, you can also get a taste at a special pop-up event hosted at OddFellows’ Dumbo location (44 Water Street). From August 5–10, visitors can enjoy free scoops between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. on August 6 and August 10.
What’s in It?
According to Frida, the ingredient list includes:
- Milk, heavy cream, skim milk powder
- Sugar, dextrose, egg yolks
- Honey syrup, salted caramel flavoring
- Guar gum, liposomal bovine colostrum
- Yellow food color, Red 40, and a trace of propylparaben
The inclusion of bovine colostrum is a nod to the real thing, offering some of the nutrients typically found in breast milk while remaining FDA-approved and food-safe.
Social Media Buzz

The flavor has gone viral, with mixed reactions ranging from curiosity to disbelief. Frida’s marketing slogan, “Just like mom used to make,” and the image of a milk tanker labeled “Breast Milk Ice Cream” have only fueled the online chatter. But for many, the controversy is part of the appeal.
Whether it’s a clever marketing stunt or a bold step toward normalizing conversations around breastfeeding, the product has certainly made an impression.
